Kyle Jennings

Join us on Saturday, September 28, 2019 for Kyle Jennings concert, on the main indoor stage! Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and music starts at 9 p.m.! $5 at the door

American singer/songwriter Kyle Jennings arrived on the music scene in 2004 when his debut album “Shine” was released on his own label, Dark Horse Records Nashville. The album, produced by decorated session legend and steel guitar man Bruce Bouton, boasted a Neo-traditional country foundation with a gritty mix of guitar-driven Americana, rock, folk, and blues influences.

Jennings quickly established himself as a relevant country singer/songwriter and energetic live performer.

Primarily recognized as a country artist, Jennings music is quite diverse. His infusion of blues, folk, rock, and country have provided him a broad spectrum musical platform and his small town stories and affection for the American way of life has become signature in his work. He currently tours the US both acoustically and with his band performing venues ranging from the smaller honky-tonk circuit to massive fairs and festivals and various live music venues coast to coast.

Joshua Davis

Doors at 7 p.m. | $18 in advance | $20 day of show

Please visit the source link below, Brown Paper Tickets, or the Old Dog Tavern Facebook event page to purchase tickets.

Michigan native and former contestant on NBC’s The Voice; Joshua Davis, will perform his newest album on August 24, 2019 starting at 8 p.m. on Old Dog Tavern’s outdoor stage.

When Joshua Davis performed on NBC’s The Voice, America at-large finally discovered what Michiganders have known for more than two decades. This amazing artist connects with a live audience, nourishes their souls and feeds off of their love. Seeing him live has always revealed his core, his essence. Live at the Robin is Davis’ first live solo acoustic release, and the intimate environment of the theatre was well suited for catching him in his element. Joshua remains a quintessentially Michigan guy, drawing his inspiration from the rough-and-tumble streets of Motown to the arboreal Upper Peninsula. The mitten is his muse.

Adventures with Vultures wsg Carrie McFerrin & Co.

Adventures with Vultures wsg Carrie McFerrin & Co.

Adventures With Vultures:
A folk singer-songwriter evokes a certain image. Matt Sauter breaks that image. With his backward ball cap, knuckle tattoos, and knee-shredded shorts, the lone singer/songwriter behind Adventures with Vultures tinkers with the image of what a folk singer should be. Adventures With Vultures’ Matt Sauter, who was a mere 24 years old when he signed with Original 1265 Recordings, hails from Plymouth—a small town that sits roughly 25 miles outside of Detroit. That location is crucial to his music: a rural area outside a major city. After all, like all good folk music, Adventures With Vultures’ songs are about specific places and the people who give those places their personality. Stylistically, it’s different from what Sauter is used to—he spent the better part of this decade writing hip-hop music, not folk music. Mos Def and J. Cole are cited among his influences, but so are Carol King, Shakey Graves, and Nathaniel Rateliff. Perhaps that’s why Adventures With Vultures brings a welcome, abrasive quality to tender, stripped-down songs.

“The Junction EP isn’t just a project for me,” he states, “it’s for my family that I grew up with in Plymouth, MI. It’s for all the years of making music with my brothers who gave up the same dream I’m still chasing. It’s for all the nights recording at my buddy Fritz’s house until 5am and all the nights playing shows in front of 5 people. This EP is for all the nights writing lyrics and mastering my craft. It’s for Plymouth, Junction street and all the groups I once played with: GATSBY, Second In Line, Here For The Fight and Morte Novella and Real MIT Records. I’m not done chasing my dream, it’s been the same damn dream since the 2nd grade!”

A folk singer, it is true, evokes a certain image. Meet Matt Sauter—an invigorating folk singer who will change that image.

CARRIE McFERRIN:
“Kalamazoo’s Sweetheart” Carrie McFerrin has been a staple in the Michigan music scene for almost a decade. She brings a fierce country twang with an indie twist that is sure to give you the warm fuzzies and kick you in the teeth at the same time. She captivates a room within her first few notes, showcasing her swanky twang, old country style. Her stage presence is a force full of wit and hilarity as she shares stories about her life and inspired songwriting. Recently nominated for the WYCE Jammies and recording on a Kalamazoo Arts Council grant, Carrie is now performing with a stellar cast of Michigan music veterans. Be sure to catch a show…and watch your teeth.
